Pursuit of Our Heritage, LLC, a Massachusetts firm managed by Francine Crowley Griffis. Her specialties include identifying forgotten or missing individuals, recreating family histories and lineages, and conducting Forensic heirship, probate, and real estate research. A hobbyist for more than thirty years—practicing professionally for the past ten, Francine's research focuses mainly in the US, British Isles, Canada, France, and Portugal.

 

In May 2021, Francine successfully earned the Certified, Genealogist® credential from The Board for Certification of Genealogists® (BCG),  she abides by BCG's

Genealogist Code of Ethics.

 

A life–long learner Francine is enrolled in the University of Strathclyde Glasgow's MSc Genealogical, Paleaographical, and Heraldic studies. She expects to earn the program's postgraduate certificate in June 2023.

She has completed numerous institutes at the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburg (GRIP), Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR), Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG), and the Level 1–3 study groups to prepare for Accreditation testing. She has submitted the Level 1 project to the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (ICAPGen℠).

 

Francine served as a board member on the Pepperell Historical Commission and Massachusetts Genealogical Council (MGC) and is a standing board member of the New Brunswick Genealogical Society. A member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), Francine served as Vice-President of the New England and Virtual APG chapters and is APG's 2021 recipient of the Laura G. Prescott award.

 

Passionate about education, she seeks to give back to the community by mentoring aspiring genealogists. Francine mentors three cohorts in the Professional Genealogist Study Groups (ProGen), a fourteen-month program of which she is a graduate. Francine served as a lead and facilitator in the forensic module in the Boston University (BU) Genealogical Certificate Program–of which she is a certificate holder–and as a facilitator in BU's Genealogical General Principles Program. She serves as a committee member and is the Virtual Technology Coordinator for the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG).

The words Certified Genealogist® and designation CG® are registered certification marks of the Board for Certification of Genealogists, used under license by Board-certified genealogists after periodic competency evaluation, and the board name is registered in the US Patent & Trademark Office. My certificate expires 3 May 2026.
